Postcards from the Future

Think of these as warnings from the future –

tourist photos frantically mailed back to us.

A drawing a day for 150 consecutive day. As a personal challenge, five months of small drawings started on June 18, 2022. Drawing is a portable medium: I drew as I hid at home from plague and extreme heat or traveled to cooler, coastal places.

Climate prophecy made visible. These kryptonite visions focus on the essential argument of the cause and effect of the Climate Crisis: the black of oil we burn; the red of blood, heat, drought, and death.

Oil and Blood. All images are drawn with two colors and four drawing tools: a black brush marker and a very fine black marker, a red brush marker and a very fine red marker. The paper is 7” x 5” 140 lb Fabriano Acquarello Artistico, traditional white, rough, 100% cotton watercolor paper.

May I add: it may not be a popular thing to say or draw or paint in Texas, the USA, or the world: Big Oil Is Winning; We Are Dying. If the brilliant, talented, oil men and oil engineers turned to creating sustainable energy, we would all survive.
